Definition

The subscapular fossa is a concave depression located on the anterior (frontal) surface of the scapula bone, serving as the attachment site for the subscapularis muscle. It plays a critical role in arm and shoulder movement by allowing for muscle attachment and facilitating upper limb mobility.
