Definition

Ranked-choice voting is an electoral system where voters rank candidates by preference rather than voting for a single candidate. If no candidate wins a majority of first-preference votes, the candidate with the fewest votes is eliminated, and their votes are redistributed to the next preferred candidates until one achieves a majority.
