Franz Ferdinand

Definition

Franz Ferdinand was an Archduke of Austria-Este and Royal Prince of Hungary and Bohemia. His assassination in Sarajevo precipitated Austria-Hungary's declaration of war against Serbia which caused countries allied with each other to enter into what became World War I.
