Definition

Acute Stress Disorder (ASD) is a psychological disorder that occurs in response to experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. It involves the presence of intrusive and distressing symptoms such as flashbacks, nightmares, and severe anxiety within one month of the traumatic event.
