Fruit of the Poisonous Tree Doctrine: An extension of the exclusionary rule which states not only is illegally obtained evidence excluded but also any other findings that came about as an indirect result of such illegal action.
Miranda Rights/Rule: These are rights that must be stated by law enforcement before questioning occurs to ensure a person is aware of their Fifth Amendment rights. If not stated, any evidence obtained may be excluded from trial.
Good Faith Exception: This is an exception to the exclusionary rule. If law enforcement believed they were acting on a valid search warrant (even if it turns out it wasn't), the evidence collected may still be used in court.
