Definition

Remodeling in the context of bone tissue and the skeletal system is the process by which bone maintains its strength and structure through the continuous replacement of old bone with new bone material. This dynamic process involves both the resorption of old bone by osteoclasts and the formation of new bone by osteoblasts.
