Definition

The nasal cavity is a large air-filled space above and behind the nose in the middle of the face, part of the respiratory system that warms, moistens, and filters air entering the body before it reaches the lungs. It also plays a significant role in olfaction (sense of smell) and in forming vocal sounds.
