Definition

Glycosuria is the presence of glucose in the urine, which occurs when blood glucose levels are high enough that the kidneys cannot reabsorb all the glucose filtered by the glomeruli. This condition often signals diabetes mellitus or problems with tubular reabsorption in the kidneys.
