Definition

Chylomicrons are a type of lipoprotein that transports dietary lipids from the intestines to other locations in the body. They are essentially spherical particles that encapsulate triglycerides, cholesterol, and other fats absorbed from food, making them soluble in the blood and lymphatic system for transport.
