AP US Government
Unit 4 – American Political Ideologies and Beliefs
Topic 4.2
How does age affect the process of political socialization?
Age has no effect on one's political ideology as beliefs are formed strictly during childhood years only.
Younger individuals have fully developed ideologies while older individuals' views constantly fluctuate without pattern or reason.
As individuals grow older, they accumulate more experiences and information that shape their evolving political identities.
Political opinions remain unchanged throughout life regardless of age.
