Recidivism

Definition

Recidivism is the tendency of a convicted criminal to reoffend, returning to criminal behavior after having been previously punished or rehabilitated. It serves as a critical measure of the effectiveness of the criminal justice system in deterring crime and rehabilitating offenders.
