General Dwight D. Eisenhower was an American military officer who served as the Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Forces in Europe during World War II. He was responsible for planning and executing the successful invasion of Normandy, also known as D-Day, and played a pivotal role in the overall strategy and command of Allied forces in Europe.
