Manic Phase

Definition

The manic phase is a period within bipolar disorder where individuals experience an elevated or irritable mood, increased energy levels, impulsivity, racing thoughts, decreased need for sleep, heightened self-esteem, and engaging in risky behaviors. It is the opposite extreme to the depressive phase.
