Definition

The Sahel region is a transitional zone in Africa located between the Sahara Desert to the north and the savanna grasslands to the south. It stretches across several countries from Senegal in the west to Sudan in the east. The Sahel region faces challenges such as desertification, droughts, food insecurity, and conflicts.
